Accessories
Joy Ride has a complete set of accessory options for your additional mobility needs. The Falcon model comes with a front basket with handle, which can be detached to take into the store. You are also supplied with a complimentary safety flag. A larger rear basket is also available for putting your groceries in and walking frame holder, which is easy to hook your frame into. A rear canvas bag ideal for containing many items away from the weather is also available on order. The cane holder is very popular for umbrellas, crutches and walking sticks alike. Storage Covers are offered by Joy Ride, which is a must for scooters exposed to the weather. All these accessories come to you at affordable, very competitive prices.

Seat
The seat should be comfortable with durable vinyl. You will find it easier to get on and off the Falcon because the seat swivels and locks into place at 45 and 90 degrees. This seat also moves forward and back and rises for more height adjusting to the user’s independent needs. Additionally, you can recline the backrest to your requirements. The seat width can also be adjusted for the larger people.

Batteries
There are two main kinds of batteries: no maintenance, sealed battery and a cheaper wet, cell type which will need regular checks and could leak acid when being transported. Joy Ride Scooters have sealed leach acid batteries “a must for scooters” for your protection with an intelligent battery charging system. The off board charger (AC100-230V) charges the batteries (DC 21V / 36A x 2) to capacity overnight without over charging for your convenience and safety.

Braking System
All Joy Ride Mobility Scooters have two braking systems designed with your system in mind. An automatic dynamic system controls deceleration during manual driving and a “fail safe” brake operates to lock the rear wheels when the scooter comes to rest.

Control Panel
The control panel features a row of lights, which indicate the level of charge left in the batteries. It is convenient gauge to tell the user when the scooter need recharging. The Falcon cruising range is up to 45km.

Hand Controls
The hand controls should be easy to use and you will find no exceptions with the Falcon. The uniquely designed speed controls have 2 buttons; one is the turtle and the other the hare. The turtle button allows you to dial up the speed to a maximum of 5km/h, which is convenient in a shopping centre around small children for example. The hare button has a range of speed up to the maximum of 10km/h, a nice cruising pace to use while driving to the shops on the footpath.

Leg Room
This is especially important if you are tall or have difficulty moving your legs. The Joy Ride Falcon model offers 35cms of space for placing your feet, as well as specifically designed angled footpads for ease and comfort while driving.

Number of Wheels
Four-wheel models are more suitable on uneven terrain and are a must for outdoor use. The Falcon is a four-wheel scooter with 12” tyres offering a wider, sturdier wheelbase than some other brands. The tyres look great, as they are black, made of nylon non-marking material not the grey you will normally see. This model also offers independent front wheel suspension! NZAA
Every Joy Ride Scooter received the protection of AA’s breakdown service, an additional complimentary service extended exclusively to all Joy Ride customers. Roadside service is provided, if required 24hours/7days a week. This will ensure piece of mind, knowing that the NZAA have everything under control. Arrangements will be made to safely return you and your scooter home at no extra charge to the customer.

Reflectors
The Falcon features side safety reflectors, which are especially important at night. Left and right indicators are hazards for visibility while crossing the road. Falcon also has left and right rear vision mirrors to aid maneuvering while reversing. These mirrors also have reflectors on the back. The head and tail left helps you to be seen on your scooter and assists your visibility, as it gets darker in the evenings.

Size
The LTSA (Land Transport Safety Authority) Legislation on mobility scooters states that a scooter must be less then 90cm wide for safe footpath use. The Falcon Model is 65cm wide, well within the legal requirements for safe use on the footpath. The unit is capable of going through a normal size doorframe.

Special Offers
A complimentary seat belt with a standard buckle lock and release mechanism is added to every Falcon for protection and safety. Every Joy Ride scooter receives a complimentary safety flag to aid the visibility to other road users.

Steering Tiller
All Joy Ride Models have an easy to use quick-release mechanism designed with the user in mind to allow the tiller to be adjusted to any level.

Suspension
The Joy Ride Falcon has been equipped with 4 wheel independent suspension. This provides a more comfortable ride for the user over rough and bumpy terrain.

Turning Radius
The Falcon has a minimum turning circle of 1.5m radius, which makes the model very easy to maneuver in tight areas such as inside around tables.

Warranty
Joy Ride supports its products with an up to 5 years limited warranty including 1 year of labour. We have qualified service technicians in the main towns and cities so help is not far away. Most services will be completed within 24hours.
